Coordinator

Are you a master at logistics as well as an expert negotiator? If so, you are indeed a rare breed in high demand.

The basic task of a Coordinator involves assigning teachers to classes and schedules. It sounds simple, but it is actually very complex and requires special talent. First of all, Coordinators are "puzzle solvers". They put together schedules taking into account objective factors such as time limits and geographical location as well as subjective factors such as teacher and student / group profile.

Secondly, Coordinators are also Human Resource specialists. They participate in the selection process of teaching staff (reviewing resumes and interviewing) and have a strong say in which teachers are assigned to which programs. The art of negotiation, or better said, "persuasion" is important in order to be able to present a positive image of the company in the interview process, discuss economic conditions, cover difficult classes, and resolve incidents.

Requirements for Coordinators

Preferred candidate profile:

The requirements for Coordinators are more subjective than objective. Coordinators must have a strong knowledge of the ESL field in general (what it takes to achieve quality language training) and have demonstrated organisational skills (have previously coordinated projects involving logistics analysis and team coordination). Multi-task ability, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines are key skills for this job.

Apart from this "subjective" criteria, below we ask for the following objective requirements.

  • A 4 year degree in an educational field and/or TEFL Certificate
  • 5 years of ESL experience, and 2 years seniority with our company
  • Additional experience in a Coordination and/or Human Resource role
  • Advanced or bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Advanced IT skills in EXCEL and Data Base use
  • If a candidate does not meet these criteria we will still admit submission of resume and professional experience in other fields is valued.

Program Manager

Need a break from the teaching? If you have strong managerial and organizational skills the job of Program Manager is the perfect way to capitalise on your teaching experience and open doors to other opportunities. Programme Mangers oversee the implementation and continual performance of our training programs. Their responsibilities include planning the logistics of program launches and overall structure, overseeing the pedagogical achievement of program targets, and ensuring adherence to administrative protocol for control and reporting procedures. In a nutshell, Program Managers make sure that our programs work and are profitable both for our company and for the client.

This job is similar to the Consultant position (see section in Teaching) with the difference that there is normally no teaching involved at all, and a Program Manager oversees a variety of programs rather than working exclusively on one program for one client.
